Wear of the Week: Booties

One item that you can repeatedly count on being on fall trend collages in magazine after magazine this season is the bootie.  As versatile as its namesake but with a bit of a fashion edge, the bootie is a fall item that is as easy to wear now as your go-to sandal.  

This week you will see it styled with a variety of outfits from a skirt to shorts to pants- showing just how functional this little number is.  So go ahead and invest, this is one piece you will definitely get your wear out of this season!

What I am Wearing: Shorts and Booties

One of my favorite ways to make an outfit Fall friendly is to add an awesome pair of booties to it.  Whether you have on shorts, a skirt, or ankle pants, booties not only fall-itize an outfit, but they also add a funky edge to whatever threads you have on.  They can arguably be classified as “THE shoe of the fall” and come in all heel heights, materials, and styles.

This is the time of year when I itch for fall weather. My summer clothes are starting to look dull and I all I want to do is throw on a cozy cold weather collection of hats, sweaters, boots, and scarves.  Since it is still August and summer is just getting started on the Southern California coast (thanks a lot, June Gloom that carried into July), I will have to settle for starting with a fall color palette.

Enter burgundy.
