A lot of the steps we talked about this week for Operation Clean Closet not only help organize your closet, but also end up saving a lot of time getting dressed. One of my favorite time savers- and one way to avoid the mid-morning bathroom mirror surprise where you glance at your reflection and wonder “What was I thinking?!” in your outfit choice- is to use outfit pictures.
I am so looking forward to scarf season! I flipped my closet yesterday and was happy to put away my spring and summer scarves and take out the cozy winter ones. There is something so fun about flannel fabric and gingham patterns. I can smell the pumpkin spice already.
Scarves, in all their glory, are an item in your closet that can be hard to know what to do with. In some of my closet quests, I have seen them stored in a bag in the corner of the closet or all hung on one hanger on top of another. Although it keeps them off the floor, it is hard to see exactly what you have when you are digging through them all. Continue reading
For day 3 of Operation Clean Coset, I am sharing my method for hanging jewelry, specifically necklaces and bangles, for tangle-free accessibility.
For day 2 of Operation Clean Closet, we are focusing on displaying camis, t-shirts, and undershirts in an organized and accessible way. These are everyday garments that are important to have in clear view for easy grab and go, especially for early mornings. Continue reading
As we start focusing our attention to shopping for fall finds, now is a great time to get your closet organized and make room for your new items. This is a big passion of mine and one that I have professionally explored. This salad has been on serious rotation over the summer. The light sweetness of the pineapple vinaigrette and refreshing pop of the blueberries makes it easy on the stomach when it is too warm for an appetite. Plus, there is no oven work involved- just a little chopping and dicing and you have dinner ready in a jiffy! Continue reading
One of my favorite ways to make an outfit Fall friendly is to add an awesome pair of booties to it. Whether you have on shorts, a skirt, or ankle pants, booties not only fall-itize an outfit, but they also add a funky edge to whatever threads you have on. They can arguably be classified as “THE shoe of the fall” and come in all heel heights, materials, and styles. Continue reading
The hubs and I caught onto the Breaking Bad train late and only heard about it through recommendations from friends. I know what you’re thinking, were we living under a massive red rock in the middle of the Albuquerque desert somewhere?
Today’s Case of the Mondays is for all you lucky gals who have a caj (short for casual) work environment. When jeans are permitted in your office, it is best to smarten them up to avoid looking too blasé. And who better to gather inspiration from than Reese Witherspoon? She is the epitome of J. Crew fabulousness in the way she can make a pair of jeans look suitable for any occasion. Continue reading
In honor of the weekend I want to share an easy but delicious tomato sauce I use over pre-packaged Trader Joe’s portobella mushroom raviolis to bring a little bit of homemade to pre-made.
This meal is simple enough for a weeknight dinner but is tasty enough to serve to a group of friends for a weekend get together. Pair with a glass of Cabernet and a side salad and you have an entertainer-worthy meal. Shhh… I won’t tell anyone how easy it is! It will be our little secret.
