Three Things Thankful

This week’s Three Things Thankful is all about spring!  Although we never really get a winter in coastal California, I still get just as excited about spring as the next person.  It means longer days (really though, can we get rid of Daylight Savings?!  Why do we even have that nowadays anyway?), guacamole and fish tacos on repeat, and blooms in the backyard.

Here are my springy inspired items for this week’s Three Things Thankful:

2. The simple beauty of a single flower- and a carnation no less!DSC_0153

3. Spring dresses in bright colors and beautiful patterns.DSC_0157

Three Things Thankful

It’s so easy to take the little things for granted.

This isn’t stop-in-your-tracks sound-the-alarm newsworthy.  But it is something I would like to be more conscience of, especially as P grows at an alarming rate.  I don’t want to forget the sound she makes when she gets excited (it is along the lines of a yell and an asthma attack), or take for granted another pretty sunset splashed across the sky, or lose sight on how beautiful flowers lift my mood.

What a better place to record such things than a forum like this?  I introduce: Three Things Thankful.

  1. Speaking of sunsets- this one knocked my socks off.  I woke up from a nap (Hallelujah! Thank you husband!) and noticed my room was enveloped in pink light.  I quickly grabbed my camera and captured what was left of this breathtaking sunset.DSC_0072
  2.  Getting art in frames.  This is a big accomplishment for me (huge!).  I don’t know why it takes so long to get something like this done, but it does.  Now I just need to hang them…DSC_0009
  3. Spring linens.  I just changed out our all white linens for these bright colored patterned ones.  My mood is instantly lifted every time I pass our room.DSC_0005
